Curating the Climate Crisis: Waters Rising at Perth Museum by Niamh Finlay

Waters Rising was a groundbreaking exhibition at Perth Museum examining the climate crisis, flooding, and climate activism. Following its successful run from November 2024 to March 2025, the project’s Curator, Niamh Finlay, will share her curatorial approach and discuss how to create sustainable exhibitions.

Niamh Finlay is an emerging museum professional who focuses on experimental exhibition design, sustainability and community participation in curatorial practice. She is currently Exhibitions Assistant, Culture Perth & Kinross. She graduated from the University of St Andrews’ Museum and Galleries Studies MLitt in 2022.  Waters Rising was nominated for Sustainability Project of the Year at the Museum & Heritage Awards 2025.
